Suzuki Returns To Rally Racing

Richmond Hill, Ontario - After an 8 year hiatus, Suzuki Canada Inc., is pleased to confirm their return to the Canadian Rally Championship with the all-new 2004 Suzuki Swift+.

Eager to participate in the Canadian Rally Championship, Suzuki will contest this demanding test of man and machine, by fielding a 2-car team in the Production class. The 2 Swift+ rally cars will be piloted by the teams of Bill Bacon/Peter Watt of Peterborough, Ontario, and Thierry Menegoz/Elise Racette of Montreal, Quebec. Devoted fans will look forward to the team’s first appearance at the Rocky Mountain Rally presented by Makita in Calgary, on May 28th, 2004. Utilizing the expertise of Frank Sprongyl at FourStar Motorsports in Georgetown, Ontario, 2 Suzuki Swift+ rally cars are currently under construction.

The Canadian Rally Championship provides Suzuki with various opportunities. One of which is to display to potential customers the ultimate in terms of what their vehicles are capable of. Suzuki Canada is strongly committed to the series and has future plans for more entries in this growing spectator sport.

The popularity of this sport has increased dramatically with the influx of younger buyers who have had exposure to the sport through video games. The Suzuki Swift+ is targeted to the buyer who is young and/or young at heart.
