RallyCar Annonces Six Event 2011 U.S. Rallycross Championship

GOLDLEN VALLEY, MN — In 2011 RallyCar will conduct a six event U.S. Rallycross Championship with opportunities for fans from across the country to enjoy rallycross!

U.S. Rallycross Championship
LOCATIONDATES
Toyota Speedway at IrwindaleMarch 25-26
Old Mill Rally ParkApril 15-16
Pikes Peak International RacewayJune 17-18
Bark River International RacewayAugust 13-14
Crandon International Off Road RacewaySeptember 4-5
Chicagoland SpeedwaySeptember 15

The first three races will be run in conjunction with the Global RallyCross Championship (see www.global-rallycross.com). Each of these events will include two car side-by-side elimination races called SuperRally on Friday and rallycross on Saturday. This means that drivers in these three events earn points in both the Global RallyCross Championship and the RallyCar U.S. Rallycross Championship.

The SuperRallies are not part of the U.S. Rallycross Championship. The first event is scheduled to air on ESPN2 April 17 at 10pm to midnight, the second on ESPN May 14 at 4:30pm - 6:0pm and the third on ESPN June 25 at 9:00pm to 10:00pm (All times Eastern). Drivers in these events will be working to earn invitations to X Games 17 in LA July 28 - 31.

The last three races will be run in conjunction with The Off Road Championship, TORC (see www.torcseries.com). Rallycross will add new excitement to these already epic off road truck race weekends. The rallycross cars will use parts of the TORC course and some new elements that highlight their quick handling and acceleration. The courses will be all dirt, but will otherwise follow the proven rallycross format of heat races and main events and, of course , the joker lap!

Each race will have its own page on the RallyCar web site, so watch those for updates, ticket information, news, and results!

In 2012 and beyond the U.S. Rallycross Championship will grow to be a healthy National race series and the Global RallyCross Championship will expand worldwide. We expect that a few events will be part of both series each year, just as Irwindale, Old Mill Rally Park, and PPIR are this year.
