Biography Eric Burmeister, Driver
Burmeister Engineering Rallysport
Dearborn Heights, Michigan

3rd - 1999 Michelin/SCCA ProRally Group 2 Driver's Championship
2nd - 1996 CENDIV SCCA ClubRally O2 Co-Driver's Championship

Eric grew up in a motorsports household. His father, Art, built and raced sports cars for road racing and introduced him to racing at a very young age. Eric's first ProRally (as spectator) was in 1981 at age 10. After seeing the likes of Buffum, Millen and Woodner skating through the Michigan woods at the original Sno*Drift, he was hooked. Eric raced motocross and trail and rode dirt bikes for several years before finally getting into rallying, co-driving for his father in 1995. 1999 was his first year competing in his own car. He and co-driver, Mark Buskirk, achieved third in the National Group 2 Championship. They plan on competing at most of the SCCA National ProRallies in 2000.

Eric is 28 years old, single, and works as an automotive stylist in the Detroit, Michigan area. Other hobbies include music and motorcycling. He is very thankful to his parents, Art and Pat, for their role in helping him pursue the sport of rallying.

Eric's Group 2 VW GTI was built in Germany by VW Motorsport for Group A competition. This car has been a rally car since new. All logbooks from every event and all original FIA homologation papers have been retained for this car illustrating its history.
