MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- Caspian Networks, Inc. - a manufacturer of Internet routers - has agreed to sponsor the Niday RallySport VW Golf GTI in the 2000 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ProRally Championship series. The agreement was announced today by J.B. Niday, team owner and driver. Caspian Networks employs team co-driver, Al Kintigh, as a systems designer.

Caspian Networks is developing the next generation of Internet backbone switches. Incorporated in 1999, Caspian Networks is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. They have satellite offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the Washington, DC area.

J. B. Niday and Al Kintigh are competing in the Group 2 category in the SCCA ProRally series. Their car is a 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Both reside in the Minneapolis area.

In 1999, Niday finished third in Group 2 drivers' points in the SCCA Central Division, and won the Land O' Lakes Region Rallycross title in class U2-Prepared. This is his third season as a driver in the sport of Performance Rally.

Kintigh was the Central Division Group 2 Co-driver Champion last season, and was named the Land O' Lakes Region Co-Driver of the Year. He co-drove in the VW Golf GTI of Doug Davenport for the past two years.

The team started this season with a fourth place finish in the Group 2 class at the Sno*Drift ProRally in Michigan. They intend to run six of the nine events on the 2000 SCCA ProRally schedule.
