Two AM Rallysport Takes Third Overall
in Penultimate Round of the OPRC

Parry Sound, Ontario -- The second to last round of the Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC), the Georgian Trials Rally, was held this past weekend north of Parry Sound, Ontario. The Two AM Rallysport team finished ahead of all but two of the 20 starters to take third overall and second in the Production Sport class. This top placing shifts them to second in class for the overall series going into next month's final round, The Rally of the Tall Pines, headquartered in Bancroft, Ontario.

In addition to scoring well in the Regional championship the team of Andrew Miller and Martyn Appleford took 12th overall in the Rally of the Voyageurs - a National level rally run concurrent with the Ontario event - and third in the Production Sport class.

"I'm very happy with the results," said driver Andrew Miller, adding, "the top 15 placing in the National portion raises our Seed level to 5A. That can mean a lot for our position on the road starting the next rally." Co-driver Martyn Appleford had this to say, "I'm impressed, these roads are very open and fast and we are as much as 60 Hp down on others in our class. Andrew did a great job keeping the speed up."

The team will be making an extra trip this year, heading to Quebec to take part in the biggest rally event of the year, the Rallye International de Charlevoix. This event, which takes place over 6 days and will attract an estimated 40,000 spectators, will offer Two AM Rallysport a chance to compete against some of the best drivers in North America and possibly overseas. This event, which is being observed by the FIA for inclusion in the World Rally Championship, is like no other in North America as teams will actually get a chance to practice the roads during the three days leading up to the start of racing. "Most rallies in North America are secret rallies, which means we don't get to see the roads until we're actually racing on them," says Miller, "this will be quite an experience, it wasn't in our original plan, but its too good to miss."

The Ontario Performance Rally Championship, which consists of 5 events run from February to November, is about the most challenging racing series in Ontario. Teams compete in timed runs over narrow twisty closed roads at high speeds.

Two AM Rallysport competes in the Production Sport class with help from its sponsors AM Innovations Inc., Volkswagen Waterloo, Dave's Tire Discounter, Frisco Auto Parts, and Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change Center.
