AV Sport and the Air Force Reserve join forces to rally an SVT Ford Focus in 2003

TEMPE, Arizona, USA -- AV Sport is proud to announce a partnership with the Air Force Reserve to run an SVT Ford Focus in the 2003 SCCA ProRally. The Open class Focus will be campaigned by Tim O’Neil.

"This opportunity is a dream come true for me, I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than working with the Air Force Reserve and AV Sport for 2003," commented O’Neil. "I think we have all the pieces in place to make a real impact next year."

A run of four consecutive victories and six consecutive podium finishes, which led to the Overall Driver’s Championship for David Higgins, proved that the AV Sport team is the most successful in America this year.

"The Air Force Reserve is extremely proud to be partnering with AV Sport in our Open class rally effort with the SVT Ford Focus in 2003," said CMSgt Eric Snipes, Chief of Air Force Reserve Advertising Branch. "We were very pleased with what AV Sport was able to accomplish with Tim’s Group N effort this year, so the decision to step up our program for next year was not a difficult one. AV Sport’s proven ability to do more with less is one that the Reserve admires very much and we are confident that ability will lead us to a successful 2003 campaign."

Andy Brown, AV Sport Team Principal, is looking forward to the venture. "Tim has had a great run this year and we anticipate him being successful in 2003 as well. We feel that, with our partnership with the Air Force Reserve, we will bring something unique to American rallying with an American car, the SVT Ford Focus."
