Budget Auto Works Joins M&M Motorsports Rally Effort
Mitsubishi Sport Fresh Paint for Cherokee Trail ProRally

Hesperia, California -- Tom Laeng, crew chief for M&M Motorsports, announced today that The Budget Auto Works, a paint and body shop, have partnered with M&M to provide services for the team's Mitsubishi Eclipse rally car. Budget Auto Works has been providing quality paint and auto body services for over 30 years and is run by father and son Louis and Erik Giner.

"Erik and Louis have given our race car a dramatic new look," noted co-driver John Dillon, navigator for the team. "Before the car was wicked fast; now it also looks wicked fast."

"The media will love the looks of this car," added driver Lauchlin O'Sullivan. "The old paint was kind of a deep green and difficult to photograph, but the new colors--wow!"

Not only is the car now bright yellow, it has a blue trident streaming down the sides and across the hood, hinting at how fast the car can really go. "My father, who was an artist, stressed how diagonal lines suggest action in a composition. You can bet this car will get plenty of action this year!" added the navigator. He remarked that the trident represents the three components of a successful rally effort: performance, reliability, and teamwork.

The team's first rally of the season, the Cherokee Trails ProRally in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will serve as the debut of the new colors. It will also be the first time the team has raced in Tennessee and everyone is looking forward to it.

The team won in Laughlin, Nevada in their last rally of 2000. "We hope that victory in Laughlin will start a trend for the 2001 season," said team manager John Moore. "All the components are in place: a reliable car, a talented driver, an experienced navigator, and a crew that knows how to get the job done. We're optimistic for success on the national circuit."

Performance rally is a sport where teams race across desert paths, logging trails, and other unimproved roads in cars licensed for street use. The team consists of a driver and navigator, the latter calling instructions from a route book provided by the rally organizers just prior to the start of the event. They are not allowed to pre-run the course.

"To us, companies like Budget Auto Works are not just sponsors, they are team partners," reports Moore. "We take pride in promoting their services through our racing successes, successes made possible by their commitment to the team." In addition to Budget Auto Works, other partners include Porterfield Enterprises for brakes, Shults Dot Com for web services, and product contributors Direct Signs, Berdoo Transmission, and Fleet Glass. Lastly, CTX Mortgage is a critical advertiser on the rally car.

"We're proud to race such a photogenic car this year," said O'Sullivan. "By racing hard we hope to give the Mitsubishi plenty of deserved exposure."
