Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA -- This weekend's Rallye de Quebec promises to be a fantastic event. Run for the first time under FIA regulations, including reconnaissance and pace noting, worldwide motorsport media attention will be focusing on ninth running of this rally. The Quebec rally is considered a potential venue for an additional date on the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.
Adding to the lustre of the event is undoubtedly the participation of Bertrand Godin, a respected French-Canadian motorsports personality. Godin has made his mark in various disciplines including Indy Lights and F3000, and will be furthering his driving career this year in Canadian Stock Cars.
Wishing to provide Bertrand the best possible experience in his first rally, Quebec organisers have enlisted the experienced co-driver Eric "T" to accompany Godin. Team Havspeed's own Andrew Havas has been called on to recce the course and author pace notes for Godin with Eric "T", as well as provide engineering assistance on the rally.
"I am very excited to be a part the Acadia Subaru Team this weekend. While I would rather be competing myself, my role as note-maker and advisor to Mr. Godin is the best possible alternative," said Havas.
"I am looking forward to shaking down our Production Class Subaru RS in the tricky winter conditions here in Quebec. Compiling pace notes for Bertrand is an especially important responsibility for myself and Eric. We accept this challenge with confidence, and believe that we can provide Godin with the tools he needs to make an impressive showing at this year's rally."
Eric "T" is the veteran of five Quebec rallies, and numerous top ten co-driving finishes. Andrew finished 7th overall and was the fastest two-wheel drive car in the 2000 edition of the Rallye de Quebec.
