Team Xtreme Focus debuts at 2003 Susquehanna Trails Pro Rally

Candia, New Hampshire -- Team Xtreme Focus - based in Candia, NH consisting of Driver/Owner Vittorio Bares and Co-Driver/Chief Engineer Forest Fyrberg of F2 Engineering - are ready to debut their newly built 2002 Ford Focus SVT to contend in the SCCA ProRally Production class at STPR, 2003.

The team is extremely excited about their first race in the new vehicle. The build of the car started from a brand new 2002 Ford Focus SVT. Its been a long road with many dedicated hours. "I've learned a lot about building a car - everything takes about 6 times longer than expected" said Chief Engineer Forest Fyrberg laughingly.

The team has had a lot of help and support in putting this package together:
Vermont SportsCar built the world-class high precision cage. The cage was derived from a full Group A design. "Lance Smith and his team are excellent to work with. They are true professionals and high quality chassis fabricators" commented Forest. Vittorio adds "We chose Vermont SportsCar because of their reputation as being the best in North America, we were not disappointed. Besides being excellent at cage building, what impressed me further is that they maintained our agreed upon schedule and they stand behind their work, excellent organization, we're very happy!"

New England Ford Dealers Association is a major contributor for all New England events. They will be supporting our efforts at the Maine Forest ProRally and supported the team at the Race-A-Rama car show.

Team O'Neil has actually had more to do with the Team's involvement with the sport of Rally than any other one component. "The 4 day course offered by Team O'Neil gave me the opportunity to acquire Tim's experience in 5 national championships in a short period of time. Through a very well thought out, progressive teaching system. I learned about the art of left foot braking, weight transfer and pendulum turns. The course is invaluable for anyone who is passionately serious about going faster, doesn't matter where you're at today in your driving technique, beginner or top 10 contender, you'll come out of O'Neil's driving faster said Vittorio.

RallyGrafix has put together the huge "Ford" sticker on the car. "The application of this was quite a challenge, we have Bret Wilber of RallyGrafix.com to thank for helping us get it on. We learned that you can go from soup to nuts for any of you vinyl needs with Bret". RallyGrafix has provided other vinyl work with superb craftsmanship and attention.

To further ensure a competitive performance in US Rally, Team Xtreme Focus chose to go with Compomotive TH2 wheels dressed with Yokahama tires. We've found that the Compomotive package has a reputation in the Rally scene as being lightweight and very strong. "We'll be racing on some of North America's toughest stages, the strength of these rims will give us one less thing to worry about at speed."

Last but certainly not least, the Team would like to thank the immediate family's of both Vittorio and Forest for their patience during the long nights spent building the car. Thanks to Vittorio's wife Suzanna (her middle name being "patience"), the kids, and Forests mother, Donna Fyrberg as well as Shannon his sister. One special thanks to Scott Beliveau for helping out with our motor mounts, even while being the NER Rally Cross Director.
