Scheible and Hughes Enter Round #2 of SCCA ProRally Championship
Hoping to Increase Their Lead in First-Ever U.S. Group N National Championship

Colchester, Vermont -- Officials at Vermont SportsCar announced today they have submitted an official entry packet to compete in the next event of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ProRally Championship, the Oregon Trail ProRally, which is held in Tillamook, Oregon. Scheduled for April 15-16, the ProRally is stop number two of the eight-event SCCA ProRally Championship held here in the United States.

Driving a Vermont SportsCar-owned and prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V, the team of Karl Scheible from Spencerport, New York and Russ Hughes from Leroy, NY are hoping to extend their current point lead in the SCCA Group N National championship battle.

Taking place in Tillamook, Oregon, round #2 of the U.S.-based SCCA ProRally Championship Series will cover 106 grueling stage miles over a two-day period, testing the teams and their very specialized equipment against the demanding Oregon countryside. Covering an amazing 225 total miles in just two days, rally teams from all over the United States will compete on a mixture of gravel and tarmac (asphalt) racing surfaces for the first time this season. The rally itself will consist of twelve special stages, all of which will be scored.

"We hadn't originally planned on participating in this rally," stated Vermont SportsCar President Lance Smith. "Karl Scheible contacted me last week and mentioned that they were interested in participating in Oregon. Our teams' desire is to compete for, and capture, the first-ever U.S. Group N Championship. So, the more rallies we participate successfully in, the more points we'll earn, therefore helping us to secure the first-ever SCCA Group N National Championship."

The Vermont SportsCar team is based in Colchester, Vermont and receives support from the following international corporations: Lazer Digital Services, Flower City Printing, Ohlins Suspension Systems from Sweden, Hella Lighting Systems, New England Racing Fuels / Sunoco Race Fuels, Compomotive Motorsport Wheels, Stack Instruments, Goodridge Components, Aearo Peltor Communications Equipment and MOMO Automotive Accessories.
