Last Ditch Racing heads to the Rallye Baie Des Chaleurs.

Bangor, Maine, USA -- Last Ditch Racing, Maine's hardest working rally team, once again points the service truck North to one their favorite ralllies, the Rallye Baie Des Chaleurs. Round 3 of the Canadian Rally Championship, the event will see the team compete in the challenging stages near New Richmond, Quebec.

The team recently completed the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally in Pennsylvania, finding it an exercise in patience. Said driver John Cassidy, "STPR is a very challenging event in its' own right, and we really didn't need all the other issues thrown at us as well. We had a wheel nearly fall off the car, a boost leak, no intercom, and no anti-lag or launch control in the car. Being down on power is not much fun with all the hairpins at STPR!"

The team has been working full-out since their return to Triple Caution Farm, LDR's world HQ. "We've been working furiously, frantically, and frenetically and perhaps even fastidiously!" said Cassidy in a fit of adjectives that begin with, "F." "We've corrected a number of issues with the car from STPR and have a couple yet to resolve. I'm confident we'll have more pace. Dave Getchell(co-driver) and I love this event and are very excited to attend."

Rallye Baie Des Chaleurs is one of a growing number of Canadian and US events that allow, "recce," short for reconnaissance. Explains Cassidy, "Recce is when crews are allowed to drive the competition route(and posted legal speeds) and write their own descriptive notes of the stages. Recce is usually a 10-12 hour day in the car and Dave and I are working most of that time on the notes. I'll relate to Dave how I wants the road noted and then we usually get a second pass on the stage to make sure there aren't any glaring mistakes. Pace noting is something we've been doing for the past few years and are quite comfortable with. Dave and I will try and improve on our notes and see if we can find some more speed at Baie this year!"

John and Dave would like to extend special thanks to their crew for their continued hard work and dedication: Bronson Crothers, Steve Chatfield, Duncan Matlack, Rob Urwin and Rob Sockalexis. "Without these guys, we couldn't do what we love to do!"

The next event for the team is their home event, The New England Forest Rally(formerly the Maine Forest Rally). "Maine is our home event, and we'll push hard there as usual. We expect to see plenty of LDR fans on the stages and in the service area. We always have a great time!" 2006 saw the team finish 10th overall.

The team is pleased to welcome back their team partners for 2007!
